Soheb Niazi, a CSH visiting researcher, published an article on “Towards a History of Non-ashrāf Muslims” in the Economic and Political Weekly on August 2024. The paper underscores the significance of contextualizing social hierarchy in order to gain a deeper understanding of the social organization of Muslims during colonial India.
